Correspondence from Rawson in Marysville (Calif.) to friends, dated Nov. 1, 1859, describing his trip from St. Joseph (Mich. or Mo.?) to Calif. Rawson described the overland journey, good hunting conditions, friendly Indians, and that he expected to engage in gold mining in the fall.
